PROCUREMENT UNIT

The Presbyterian Women’s College Of Education, Aburi has a small Procurement unit which manages the day to day procurement activities of the College.

As we all know procurement is the process of finding and agreeing to terms of acquiring goods, services or work from external source, through tendering or competitive bidding process. Procurement generally involves making buying decisions under conditions of scarcity

Some of the key objectives of this unit are to:

1.  Support operational requirements.

2.  Manage the procurement process and supply base efficiently and effectively.

3.  Develop strong relationships with other functional groups.

4.  The procurement unit works hand in hand with stores and the finance department to maximize the scares financial resources of the college.

The activities of the Procurement unit are overseen by the Entity Tender Committee which is chaired by the Principal. The Committee ensures that there is value for money in every procurement that we do, be it works, goods or services.

Currently, the procurement unit has one procurement officer assisted by a NABCO person.

The Procurement Unit and the Entity Tender Committee is working hard to meet all the infrastructure needs of the College and to make the college one of the best in the country where students and workers will have a safe and secure environment to learn and work peacefully.
